Biography Mick Charles is the alter-ego of Guitarist/Singer/Songwriter Mike Donatowicz. Recording under this pen name stems back to his days as co-founder of the Chicago based band, The Bunch, which was known for their heavily British influenced sound, and an all original music format. Along with fellow bandmates Dennis Cieslak, Joe Costanzo, Jim Cleary...(and later Larry Surleta, Eddie Lorek, Doug Pertle, and Al Savoia), Mike/Mick plodded through the music scene in the Chicago area for years. The Bunch enjoyed making numerous recordings, doing shows everywhere they could, and of course working on their new material. As the years went on, The Bunch went through a few changes, but was finally put to rest. A few years later, Mike decided to begin a solo career. After three solo albums since 2001, Mike has now released his fourth effort, "At Both Ends (of the road)". This album brings Mike into some new territory. The music here is more focused, more personal, and stripped down to bare essentials. A satirical look at self-importance, ("La-Dee-Da"), and a comical ode to what we all think from time to time, ("I Should Go To Hell"), stand out on this otherwise fairly serious and emotional work. If you've been listening for years, and go all the way back to The Bunch, this is a must have recording. If you're new to Mick Charles/Mike Donatowicz...this is a great place to start. Then work your way back. CDs and individual tracks are currently available on iTunes. Simply look up Mick Charles in the Artist Search section. Also available at Amazon.com
