Biography

My name is Byron Mathis I am the owner operator of Millsprings Studios in Southern Illinois. I have been a musician since i was 6 years old and played in bands all of my life. my main instruments are Harmonica and guitar but also play anything with strings piano and woodwinds. from 1978 to 1991 i was a disc jocey at many radio stations and did voice overs for t.v plus worked in recording studios during the Analog era. Now i am a captain on a line boat that moves barges up the Tennessee river From Paducah Ky. To Chattanooga Tn. On my days off I spend time in my studio and record songs that i have written while on the boat and do recordings for local artists. My wife Jo Jo is my greatest inspiration for my songwriting although some of my songs are inpired from the river and the people i meet on the boat.
