Biography Jay Hollis' first musical memory was watching a Simon and Garfunkel concert on TV with his father. "I watched the Central Park show with him and was just mesmerized by it," he said. But it wasn't until Hollis was a sophomore in high school that the Bluegrove, Texas, native thought to pick up an old acoustic guitar in his bedroom and strum on it.
A decade later and you can find Hollis strumming his way on the music scene. Hollis regularly plays guitar and sings his own country songs along with some Simon and Garfunkel tunes. And his father, when he is available, is right alongside him on background vocals. Hollis has quietly developed a solid musical reputation with shows at the Iron Horse Pub. He has backed up legends like Joe Ely, Larry Joe Taylor, David Jackson, Texas songwriter Brian Burns, Gregg Martinez, Doug Moreland, and top Nashville songwriter David Lee. He has currently joined up with country singer Bailey and plays guitar for her. |
